Brant Community Food Educators

The Brant Community Food Educators (CFEs) are a group of trained volunteers who can provide education to individuals of all ages on the following topics:

  • general healthy eating/Canada’s Food Guide
  • menu planning
  • healthy eating on a budget
  • label reading
  • preparing quick and easy meals
  • cooking for one or two
  • cooking basics
  • healthy snacks
  • food preservation and canning
  • safe food handling


Examples of activities CFEs might lead include:

  • cooking classes or demonstrations
  • workshops/presentations for community groups
  • booths to promote healthy eating and provide resources to the community
  • grocery store tours


The Brant Community Food Educators can work with you to develop sessions that meet the needs of your group. Sessions can vary in length and can occur at any time depending on CFE availability (days, evenings, weekends). We can even do the grocery shopping for you!

Please note that organizations/groups requesting a cooking demo or class are responsible for covering any food related costs. In addition, there is a $20.00 administration fee per session.
